The Art of Giving
Have you ever wondered why money seems to run from you, or why your soul mate has not appeared? This may all have to do with your ability to give. There is a Universal art to giving that is powerful. Why not find out how giving will help you receive what you have hoped for?
The Art of Giving
By []Janet Angel

Just for a moment remember a time when you were thrilled to pieces about receiving something, anything. It could have been a much needed compliment, money for rent, a lovely prize that you won, the best birthday present ever, the gift of life, better health, the birth of a child, your own wedding day, a great job...whatever. Just bask in that memory for a moment. Think about how it made you feel emotionally, mentally, and physically. Re-experience that moment including any sights and sounds that were involved. Were you opening a piece of mail, or standing on a stage, or in the arms of a loved one, with family and friends? Remember it completely. Now realize that you were able to receive that "gift" because you and some others came together in body, mind, and spirit to manifest that moment. Because you allowed others to give to you, you were able to have an unforgettable experience that perhaps set you in motion and in position for other wonderful events.

Giving awakens your soul; it sets in motion a stagnant life; perhaps one that was once selfish.  Giving without expectation of receiving is the highest form of sharing and an outward manifestation of unconditional love. Sharing is the reason we are living this life.

If you achieve all things on your life list, what is that you really have? Perhaps you have acquired many fine items, a lovely home, a secure job, rich clothing, the ability to travel, the freedom to do what you choose to do when you choose to do it.  However, it is not fame and fortune, the accumulation of objects, and successful experiences that make a rich life. What makes a rich life is one that is shared from heart to heart, from one soul to another. This is what helps to elevate the minds and souls of people on this planet. For one day this earth is destined to become the heaven it was meant to be and each of us have a responsibility to inspire, to teach, to lend a hand, to uplift humanity in some way, not just once, but in a never-ending fashion.

Some people come into this life easily able to give of themselves, they learn something proficiently, become an expert in a certain area of life, and they share that wisdom with as many people as humanly possible. Others are blessed to be the financial providers, the ones that enable those with other gifts to send their messages out to the world.  In this dimension of living we are bound by, and some say sadly bound by, conditions that man has managed to put in place, such as the need for financial strength in order to enjoy basic needs to survive, let alone to thrive. But take heart, for every challenge, for every mountain man has placed before himself, there are those who have been born to help us overcome these obstacles. If you have thought that the success of your life has been accomplished all alone, you are grossly mistaken. Together we connect the dots in the invisible field of possibilities to bring them into reality. One brick alone does not make a foundation.

Some of us are rich in life lessons, humor, physical strength, courage, a steady hand, tolerance, the ability to teach, to invent, to sing, dance, paint, or to keep order. Others are nurturers, patient and kind parents, admirable friends, leaders of countries, companies; counselors; some tend to other living elements on this planet, to understand animals and plants and insects, the stars, the weather. There are those born to present the news, to write beautiful poetry or music. Some have the mind and talent to perform delicate operations, to dissect minute tissues, discover imbalances, or know just what it will take to keep us well somehow returning us to vibrancy physically, mentally or emotionally. Each of us have a place in this vast tapestry I call the  "Orchestra of Life".

Be glad and grateful for your gifts, your talents, your family and friends; those that help to keep the light of your soul alive and helping others along the path of your life. The reality is that we need all people to function as a whole. We need those who are adept and blessed perhaps by familial financial grace, those that are good spokesmen and women, those that teach, or work with their hands, and every single person who is on this planet.

When we live our lives with the intention of providing VALUE and most especially creating value in this world, the Universe has no alternative but to help us manifest all that we need through ways that we might expect, and through ways that come by complete surprise. If you have discovered your role in what I have said here, be happy for the part you now play. Be thrilled with your talents, with your ability to support another person's life in some way, especially those that have a talent and a message to share with people to uplift life on this planet. If you have given someone a chance to have a better job, the opportunity to market a new invention, travel overseas to help the poor, teach English to people in another country, rescue animals, improve the environment, go to college, get a car to drive to work, open a business, continue efforts to help others and this world in some way, you have been guided by the angelic forces of this Universe and you are in "tune" with the grand design for cosmic advancement. Be happy that as you learn to give, to share, to care, you are gaining streams of positive energy that goes with you to the life beyond. For you are cloaked in goodness, one of the grandest lights of this world.

There is no feeling that awakens our divine DNA better than sharing. It matters not if what you have to share is tangible or intangible. It could be as simple as time spent with someone who is lonely. It could be financial support, a job, much needed information, help with tuition, or expert advice for no charge. All of these things are valuable to someone. Taking an elderly person to lunch, brushing someone's hair who can no longer do it for themselves, baby-sitting for a relative or friend, dropping off groceries to a struggling family, just listening, or inviting someone over to share tea are all wonderful displays of the extension of love that this world craves.

Life on planet earth is to be enjoyed by all living things. We have a responsibility to do our individual part to awaken joy in every life that we touch. As we share ourselves, our talents, our personal riches, and positions in a way as to uplift the life of others, this gesture goes out farther and deeper and multiplies more rapidly than one can imagine. If you help just one family, just one child, one animal, or one patch of grass in your life, you set up levels of protection around yourself on the higher realms. This invisible protection ushers the resonance of the soul to a higher place. Individuals who spend their lifetimes in prayer and doing good deeds for others have been called Saints. We need not go to this extreme yet; we can give daily by doing some of the following:

·When you see someone going without give what you can. If you cannot give money or the item needed, or the time, etc., instead, mentally give that person what they need. See them grateful and feeling good that you "sent" that image to them. By doing so you set in motion their manifestations from the higher planes where the blueprint of information, like seeds, are planted.

·When we mentally send out gifts that we cannot personally fulfill, it  sends out a message into the fiber of life from which a resonance is then sent on to others who are willing and capable of fulfilling that person's needs if it is for the highest good of all.

·Do your part each day by closing your eyes and "seeing" yourself well and happy and prosperous, then all of your family members well, happy, and prosperous, then friends, people in your town, your state, all states, and then on each continent. Move beyond this to include all animals, plants, and the environment in general and then mother earth as an entity. Bless the sun, the moon, the stars, your guardian angels and all of God's extensions into our lives.

·Think of ways to improve something in your life each day.

·Think of ways to share to --  give to all there is.

·And this may throw you for a loop, but you also need to GIVE TO YOURSELF! Yes, give to yourself as though you were your own child, spouse, or best friend. Mentally give to yourself those things that you desire. The Universe begins in your mind, and all possibilities are first planted there. You must have a seed in order to conceive...so plant the seeds of desire in your mind, in your heart, in your soul and nurture them; tend to them daily and be glad that they are all ready present within you and growing strongly soon to be realized.

Once you understand the art of giving, it is time to realize that receiving is the balance.
If we do not learn how to receive, we prevent others the sheer joy of giving. So, begin today to say, "Thank You" more often when someone gives you a compliment. Allow someone to open a door for you, to shovel your snow, to give you flowers, candy, jewelry, a job, a smile. Accept small things first and feel worthy of them. As you change your ways by giving, greater and greater gifts will come into your life. The life that you have longed for will manifest more rapidly than you might imagine. We can never give anything away really. It is the gesture that counts. The Universe/God always responds by sending waves of reciprocation that are more than ten times greater than the energy you have given out physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or financially.

Enjoy the art of giving. By so doing, you open the floodgates to receive more goodness, greater riches, more happiness, better health and higher wisdom than you have ever dreamed. You also set in motion the manifestation of the dreams that others hope to manifest. With these riches you will continue to do great things to improve life for all people on this planet, you will be inspired to search for and become aware of  more possibilities to enlighten this world.

Now just one word of caution: Give from your heart with no expectation of receiving anything in return. The purity of your giving and your enthusiasm behind the effort propels waves of fortune that will reach an uncountable number of particles that are yet to become. You actually set in motion a higher life for others by the generous outpouring of your gifts.

The more you give, the greater the rewards that remain with you through eternity. Remember that gifts are both tangible and intangible. Smile and give yourself a mental hug right now and be grateful for all that you are and all that you are yet to become.

Wishing you endless joy and blessings flowing to and fro.

Grace and Grumbling - Starting from the story of the Israelites in Exodus this article makes the point that grace and grumbling should not coincide.
Foot In Mouth Disease By Jerry Ousley - There is a real disease that is commonly called "Foot AND Mouth Disease." I am in no way making fun of that terrible disease but it occurred to me that there is another disease that doesn't really affect the physical body, instead affecting the recesses of the mind. I appropriately call it "Foot IN Mouth Disease."
How Can We Overcome Sin? Everyone, at one time, has struggled with sin. A few years ago, I struggled with two issues.  They weren't necessarily wrong for everyone, but I knew they were wrong for me.
Dealing with Fear No matter how serene and unaffected a person may seem, there isn't anyone who is totally impervious to fear; everyone gets afraid sometimes. It is therefore not what you feel (fear) but what you do with what you feel.
What is Success?  What an amazing discovery!  What does success mean to you?  I, like many others thought that success meant having a lot of money and material things to show that I had arrived.  Of course, we now know that this is far from the truth.  Listed below are two circumstances below that helped me view success differently:

Grandpa's Prayers  By Cathrine Huff.  Prayer is powerful in God's eyes. It is a sweet smelling fragrance to Him, worth changing the course of history for those in danger.
Feiler, who penned last year's bestseller Walking the Bible, once again offers a winning combination of history, travel and spiritual memoir. Arguing that Abraham, the purported "father" of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, "holds the breadth of the past and perhaps the dimensions of the future in his life story," Feiler sets out to recover Abraham as he is portrayed in all three religions. The book's first half addresses what the Bible and Koran say about Abraham, his call to monotheism, and his sons Isaac and Ishmael. Particularly fascinating are Feiler's discussions of how the three religious traditions invented stories about Abraham to supplement the rather skeletal canonical version and even borrowed these stories from one another, as when Muslim traditions about Abraham and Ishmael began appearing in eighth-century Jewish commentaries. The second half very poignantly delves into each faith tradition and discusses how the Abraham narratives relate to contemporary religious and political conflicts. No one writes description quite like Feiler. His claim, for example, that "the Holy Sepulcher is to a church what Picasso is to a portrait a cubist vision of fractured beauty" is an arresting and perfectly imagined analogy, and he mellifluously depicts the Arabic language as "flowing, evolved, [and] sculpted, like a dune." More important than Feiler's masterful wordsmithing is his passionate engagement of the subject matter. Italics are everywhere, yet they don't feel overused; Feiler has a keen sense of what is at stake when these three religions claim Abraham as their father. This is a joy to read.
