"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the
soul. But
rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are
not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to
the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs of your
head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value
than many sparrows." (Matt. 10:27-31).
We had a beautiful Church service today and Gavin led our
worship. He
and his children sang with a heart of love and drew us to our Lord
Jesus and Father. One song was "His eyes are on the sparrow and I know
He watches me."
So often we may be going thru difficult times or extreme
times. Our
very own family or friends may stand against us or betray us. They may
even want to get rid of us and show us the door.
A friend of mine is facing a similar trial. Her husband has
told her he
wants her to leave. He is only giving her a share of the house and not
her full entitlement, as he says he contributed more towards it. To
leave in peace, she accepted the unfair amount. Soon she will receive
it and doubts creep in her mind. With the cost of houses and interest
rates sky rocketing, how will she find a suitable home? Will she be
able to pay off a mortgage? She has no savings and will not get any
furniture, only a bed.
Peace returns to her, for she too heard Gavin sing "His eyes
are on the
sparrow." The Spirit of God encourages her not to be afraid, to stay
still and trust in Him. No matter what, she is assured He will be there
- He will always be there.
"Look not at your circumstances" I hear Him speak to her and
others
like her. "Instead, look at Me. You are more valuable than a sparrow
for you are My child. I created You and I know your difficulties. I see
you a target of many circumstances. You feel I don't care, You wonder
how long must you endure? But do not be afraid, I your God will walk
with you. Trust Me, I am with you."
Blind faith is what He is asking her and perhaps all those
who believe
in Him. Fear will rock her boat but by walking with Jesus 24/7 this
boat will be under His authority.
We are encouraged to forsake our life in His care and know
that He can
make a way where there is no way. He was strengthened to endure on the
Cross by His Father and so will each and every one of His children.
Hold on to the promises in the Bible and walk in confidence
for His eyes are on the sparrow, on her, you and me too.
'The Living God is our Creator and our Abba. His Son
Jesus is our
Saviour and will not forsake us. He is our Mediator and pleads for us
at the right hand of the Father. Turn to Him for all your needs and
trust that He loves you and will help you.'
