Maker
: This beautiful round ironstone platter is by England’s iconic ceramics maker Ridgways.
Age
: The arrow and quiver mark on the reverse includes the location Stoke-on-Trent but not the word England; that dates the platter to between 1885 and 1890.

Design
: The classic red and cobalt blue Imari style platter is in the pattern called Simlay. It features a variety of Asian-inspired floral designs highlighted in gold.
Size
: The platter is 13 inches wide and 1 3/8 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces.
Condition
: It's in excellent condition for its age with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches or repairs. There is significant crazing throughout as expected in ironstone of this era, several faint utensil marks that can be seen in bright light and a small faint underglaze stain on the front - that's shown in the photo with the red arrow.
This wonderful antique platter is a beautiful item that would enhance any china collection.
