  • Condition: Good-Very Good overall antique cond: Offered is this estate fresh & recently discvr'd in sthr'n NH, hand carved, hnd-hld wood grain scoop, w/nat aged wood patina. The back or heel of the wood scoop has remnants of possibly old blue or blue-gray paint still on it. The int basin of the scoop has hand-hewn attributes, much as how chestnut beams were hand-hewn in early architectural post & beam home & barn construction, brought to the New World by the English & French. This early-mid 19th c American antique New England primitive wooden grain or flour scoop has an exaggerated lower scoop, intended to retrieve a lg amnt of seed, grain or milled flour. Its hnd crvd wooden handle is contiguous w/the scoop & doesn't suffer any fractures or repairs (old or new) There's a sm split at the bottom edge of the scoop where over the yrs & due to repeated use, the scoop's outer edge had weakened & a sm split occurred. It has a matte, dry, antique finish & remains as it was found. A wonderful primitive.
