Description
This listing is for the Exceptional 19th Century Dutch Painting of a Dry Dock Scene w/ Figures pictured above.About this work
:
A true gem - a beautiful bustling town scene with a ship in a dry dock, various figures, and several buildings.
Judging by the architecture and attire, the work is likely of Dutch origin. It is signed in the lower right, but I was unable to discern what it reads.
The work is very well done, as emphasized by the detail and craftsmanship of the many figures in this scene. Although I can’t make out the signature, it is likely that of a well-known/listed Dutch artist from the latter half of the 19th century.
It is housed in a modern gilt wood Italian frame.
