    Description

OLDEST FORD DEALERSHIP LIGHTER IN EXISTENCE ? ONE OF THE FIRST DEALERSHIPS IN NATION
This cigarette lighter is from one of the very first and longest running Ford Dealerships in the Nation. It very possibly is the oldest existing Ford Dealership Lighter in existence. It is in remarkable shape for its age and the graphics have few if any significant imperfections.
This lighter was manufactured by Imco, a “Solo Deluxe” model. I approximate the vintage age of the lighter to be from the 1930’s. I have had this lighter for over thirty years, and you are seeing it as it was since I acquired it; It essentially is an untouched and unrestored original. The provenance of this lighter is guaranteed, it is the real thing.  You will not find another one. An extremely rare piece of Ford authorized advertisement history.
Wray-Dickinson Ford started in 1911 and is still in existence today. The Wray-Dickinson Ford Co. still exists under the original 1911 charter. The original dealership building is on the National Historic Register.
“Among the dealerships that have been in for the long haul are.. Wray Ford of Bossier City, La... In 2000, Wray Ford moved to new facilities at Bossier City, La., and was honored as one of Ford’s special group of oldest family-owned dealers.” “First With Ford”, Old Car Weekly News and Marketplace, Tom Collins, December 21, 2007.
